Limited Regathering for Sunday Worship

For many months we have been the Church scattered throughout the city, loving our West Side neighbors and worshiping remotely during this COVID-19 pandemic. These trials have been difficult. Some of us lost loved ones, and we all know people who have experienced loss due to the illness. During this time we pray that God has worked in your hearts and brought you closer to him. As we enter into a new phase of ministry, we are committed to continue participating in the Holy Spirit’s transformation of our neighborhood, city and world.

We are delighted to regather for limited in-person Sunday Worship services! On July 12, 2020 we resumed a hybrid in-person/live stream Sunday Worship service at W83 Ministry Center at 10 a.m. Up to 100 participants are allowed to gather for worship in person. Others who wish to participate in the service online can join via livestream on our YouTube channel.

Below are details outlining what to expect. Please read through them carefully before you register, as you will have to consent to several required safety protocols. These are designed to protect the health of participants.

What to expect

  • Limit of 100 attendees to ensure safe physical distancing
  • Individuals who are immunocompromised, considered to be high risk, unwell, out of town, unable to register or uncomfortable attending in-person services are highly encouraged to participate on livestream
  • Pre-registration is required to limit attendance and enable contact tracing, if necessary
  • There will be a health screening prior to entry
  • All persons (aged 2+) must wear a mask/face covering at all times while indoors at W83
  • No congregational singing at this time
  • Hand sanitizer is available for you to use
  • For the safety of all, please follow the instructions of the staff
  • No in-person children’s ministry, classes or coffee hour

Worship Service Registration Details

  • Registration is required to attend for all attendees over the age of one. To keep social distancing requirements we can only allow 100 individuals into service. Registration is open to everyone in our community.
    • Registration will open on Mondays at 7 a.m. and close Saturdays at noon (or sooner if we reach 100 registrations).
    • If you cannot attend, cancel your registration so that others can participate with in-person services.
    • No walk-in participants are allowed at this time.
    • We ask for prayers, patience and grace as we continue to think through regathering in a manner that is safe for everyone.
  • By registering to attend service, you consent to answer the following health screening questions:
    • I am not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms: Fever (temperature that is elevated for you/100.0F or greater) or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, and/or Diarrhea.
    • I have not traveled internationally or to any of the states on Governor Cuomo's list of states requiring quarantine in the last 14 days (subject to change each week).
    • I have not had a positive COVID-19 diagnostic test in the past 14 days.

  • By registering to attend service, you consent that:
    • Your temperature will be taken via a non-touch thermometer before entering.
    • All persons age 2+ must wear a mask/face covering that covers the nose and mouth at all times while indoors at W83.
    • NOTE: During the service, the worship leaders and preacher will need to remove their mask in order to perform their worship activities. They will be at least 12-feet distant from others.
  • To accommodate these safety protocols, plan to arrive early so everyone can check in and be seated before the service begins. Check-in and seating could take approximately 5-10 minutes. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.
  • No singing allowed. New York recommends 12-foot distancing to allow singing and therefore we cannot allow congregational singing at this time. Feel free to stand, hum along, sway, but if you are attending in-person services, you will not be able to sing out loud.
    • NOTE: the worship leader will be singing without a mask. They will be at least 12-feet from others.
  • Seats will be marked for safe distance. This means that during our regathering phase, you may not be able to sit where you did prior to COVID-19. Please follow the directions of staff.
  • If you would like to visit with others who attended the service, please do so outside beyond the immediate vicinity of W83. We encourage you to safely take a walk in the park or support one of the local restaurants in the area.
  • There will not be an offering collection. Please continue to give your financial gifts online.

I have read through the above guidelines and am ready to register.

      Other Gatherings and Ministries

      • The only spaces that will be open during these initial phases are the sanctuary and sub-cellar bathrooms. The number of people allowed in the restroom at one time will be limited. Please pay attention to signs.
      • We will not offer in-person West Side Children classes, in-person classes or gatherings for adults, or in-person Coffee Hour.

We look forward to seeing you, but only whenever you are ready. Please exercise your own judgment about attending. We love you and look forward to seeing you when you’re ready to attend in-person services.
