Julianne Vastbinder

Community Group Intern

Born and raised in Bentonville, AR, Julianne Vastbinder got her first taste of the city in high school while on trip with her youth group. “Since then, God had been tugging at my heart toward NYC and I had dreamed of coming back.” She finished her undergrad at Taylor University with a degree in Christian Ministries and officially made the move to NYC with her husband, Joel, in February 2019. “It’s certainly been stressful and challenging to transition, but God has been challenging us to see the beauty of the city and even just a small glimpse into how he is working through organizations and churches like Redeemer.”

Julianne joined the team in July 2019 as one of our CG Interns. In addition to leading a Summer Community Group for summer interns in the city, she’ll also assist with oversight of Community Groups and Beta Groups, as well as helping with WS Women’s mentoring initiative and speaker series.

In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy finding new coffee shops and going to Prospect Park for Celebrate Brooklyn concerts. “It’s all still pretty new and I am always open to suggestions of new restaurants and things to do!”
